When we mentioned that we could consider going to another restaurant, she said she was not supposed to split checks but would make an exception this time. After ordering, we waited over an hour to receive our appetizers and meals. Several members of our party had to repeatedly ask about the appetizers before they finally arrived. After finishing our meals, we then waited nearly another 30 minutes just to pay. We even had to ask another waitress—who was very kind—to check on our order and assist us. Unfortunately, our assigned waitress was neither friendly nor attentive. She never checked in to ask how the food was or whether we needed anything. She walked past our table multiple times without acknowledging us or making eye contact. The food itself was okay, but the service was extremely disappointing. Given the poor level of service, the automatic 15% gratuity did not feel justified. To make matters worse, after we finally paid, Ms. Burrow commented, “See, this is why I shouldn’t have split the checks.” This was particularly frustrating given the long delays and lack of service throughout our visit. Additionally, the restaurant was not busy at the time, which made the experience even more disappointing.
